The Light

Most of my friend's favourite scene in my novel "After Images." When some mysterious laser-like light appears and begins moving foreward and destroying everything in it's path. However, Espomage, Ilinon and Aver could evade it for a while, but then the light kept on growing and accelerating. Since it destroyed whatever it touched and it was too big to go around, Aver had one idea left. Cut it in half, and it will become unstable and diminish.

Ilinon (Left) the burly, tank of a dragon-oid cut into the light with his sword and Aver (right) and Espomage (Above) hid behind. Ilinon was creating a safe "hallway" of undestroyed land for them to endure the violence of the light. However, after minutes of cutting Ilinon just couldn't hold it and Aver had been bracing him, but they both were thrown off their feet and landed well behind where Espomage was standing.

Now the light rages toward Espomage and Ilinon and Aver look on in fear. Espomage has but a staff with two blades on each end. His martial arts skills won't save him here. There could be a few inches of light left to cut, or a mile. Espomage and the others will find out once he takes one swing.

As for the actual picture. (I'm holding my GOD DAMNS and OMGS...). This was originally just an outline, I scanned it in, in case I ever got a colouring program. I started shading it with pencils, it looked OK when I was done Ilinon, but I KNEW that the only way to get the majesty of the whole scene, I would need some effects and textures that only a computer or 40 years of painting skills could provide. I tried at least 12 different combinations of contrast, hues, brightnesses, blurs, etc, but I feel this one is the best for being able to see what's happening. Other versions of this show, more accurately, what the scene should look like, but I had you in mind.

Oh and yes... OMG!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! HOLY SWEAR WORD MORE POWERFUL THAN F***!!!!!! This is awesome. I don't think it's possible for me to get a picture this nuts again. I know it has its many bad parts and it's a little hard to understand what the hell is going on... but come on!!! MY eyes are MELTING!!!!!!!!!
